The goal of the Spring Hockey Program at Bowie is to provide players the opportunity to develop their skills during the time period immediately prior to tryouts. The program grew from 48 players in 2013 to 170 players in 2015.
Spring Hockey players are coached mainly by current Bowie coaches but there are also outside coaches for skill development and goalie training. For the 2016 season Coach Wes Travis will be leading power skating sessions and Jay Chrapala from the Goalie Development Institute will be our goalie consultant.
The Club wants to keep the price of the program reasonable ($150 for 2015) while providing as much ice time as possible. This year program will include practices with half-ice scrimmages, skill sessions, and pre-tryout clinics.
The low cost for 2016 means that no tournaments entry fees are included, however teams may opt to play in spring tournaments, but would have to cover the costs themselves. BHC will assist with tournament registration logistics if requested.
